Free apps for online waiting times at AGH now available
(Aug. 13, 2010) Free apps for the most popular smart phones on the market, the Android, iPhone and Blackberry, are now available for download to get the most-up-to-date information about Atlantic General Hospital’s outpatient services.
Individuals with these mobile devices can access the wait times — already posted on the Berlin hospital’s Web site, www.atlanticgeneral. org — for walk-in lab work and X-ray services as well as the emergency room with just the tap of an icon.
Atlantic General Hospital is the first hospital in Maryland to offer a wait times app as well as the mobile-friendly Web site that has been available for several weeks.
“Access and convenience were two of the highest responses we received on our most recent community survey. We know that our community expects quality care provided in a timely manner,” said Toni Keiser, vice president of public relations for Atlantic General Hospital. “Now, through our mobile application we have provided our community with the convenience of immediate, up-to-date information so that on their way to work, lunch, school — wherever they are or are planning to go — community members can simply touch our logo on their phone to check our wait times and possibly pop in for the lab test or X-ray they have been meaning to fit in.”
Instructions on how to download the app can be found at www.atlanticgeneral. org. The app can also be found in the health section of the Android’s Market, the iPhone’s iTunes Store and Blackberry App World.
