BOCA RATON, Fla. — Jim Sporrer, formerly of Worcester County, passed away Monday, Jan 25, 2010, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., while awaiting a liver transplant.

Mr. Sporrer was a resident of Ocean City and Ocean Pines from 1971-1996. During those years, he was involved in many ventures, both business and pleasure. He was also one of the original lead singers in the Teenage Rust band of Ocean City. In 1996, he moved to Boca Raton, where he continued in real estate and wrote a novel.

He was married to Robin Sporrer (formerly), of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and they have three sons, Jamie Sporrer of Baltimore, Justin Sporrer of Gainesville, Fla., and Adam Sporrer of Deerfield Beach, Fla. He is also survived by a son, Jim Jacobs of Atlanta, and nephew, Brian Sporrer of Baltimore.

He will never be forgotten for his great sense of humor, style and his famous “peace sign.”
