James Paul “Jim” Aschenbach

OCEAN CITY — James Paul “Jim” Aschenbach, 70, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Sellersville, Pa., he was the son of the late Emerson Paul Aschenbach and Marian Moyer Aschenbach. He is survived by his wife, Susanne McKenna Aschenbach.

Mr. Aschenbach was a graduate of Albright College. He was an engineer and worked in industrial sales for Fuller Co. in Allentown, Pa. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ocean City and the Ocean City Elks Lodge 2645.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Aschenbach is survived by his children, Lisa Barker and her husband, Ed, of Reston, Va., Susan Spengler and her husband, Michael, of Northampton, Pa., John McDowell of Tampa, Fla., Deborah Clemente and her husband, James, of Keene, N.H., and Donna Griffin and her husband, Matthew, of Purcellville, Va.; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Ginny Woodworth and her husband, Curtis, of Old Tappon, N.J., and Barbara Heindel and her husband, Tim, of York, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Monday, Feb. 1, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. The Revs. Dr. Harry Wolpert and Dr. James Davis officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 10301 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, Md. 21842. Arrangements were handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
