T he Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints are set to compete in the game of all games on Feb. 7 — the Super Bowl — and the 44th annual competition is just a few days away.
NFL enthusiasts who are unable to be at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., on Sunday for the big match-up (kickoff is scheduled for 6:25 p.m.) have the opportunity to catch all the action in and around Ocean City. Several restaurants and bars are planning parties for football fans.
WEST OCEAN CITY:
n 707 Sports Bar & Grill: Pre-game party with Under the Outhouse from 2-6 p.m. Complimentary halftime buffet. Game on 25 TVs.
n Greene Turtle West, Route 611: Festivities will begin at 2 p.m. with music by the Electric Company. Food and drink specials: $2 domestic drafts and bottles and well drinks, $6.99 half-rack ribs and fries, $4.99 sliders, wings, hog hammers, chili dogs, pizza and nachos. Fried oyster po boys, jambalaya and gumbo also available. Specials will run all day and night. Game on 47 TVs, stereo sound.
New Orleans Saints
n Harborside, South Harbor Road: Tailgate party before the game with food and drink specials all day. Music by Opposite Directions, 2-6 p.m.
OCEAN CITY:
n Seacrets, 49th Street: Watch the Saints-Colts game on the 13-foot by 26- foot screen with surround sound and on several other televisions in the Morley Hall. Fans can get $1.75 drafts, half-price jerk chicken, fries, steamed shrimp and onion rings. There will also be a special tailgate menu. Dinners are half-price from 5-10 p.m. on Sundays.
n BJ’s on the Water, 75th Street: Super tailgate party from 2-6 p.m. with Teenage Rust and the Fabulous Rustettes. Drink specials: $2 Miller Lite, Natural Light and Coors Light cans and $1.25 domestic drafts. Food specials: $4.95 burgers, $3.95 hot dogs and 50-cent roast beef sandwiches. Tailgate menu also available. Breakers Pub raw bar (4- 7 p.m.) will have $9.95 steamed shrimp, Alaskan crab legs, oysters or clams on the half shell.
