Burglary thwarted

James Haynes A phone call from a neighbor who saw people breaking into a Montego Bay home on Jan. 14 led to the arrest of three men on burglary charges.

James Anthony Haynes, 24, of Willards, Frank Allen Dowling, 24, of Pittsville and Stephen Marcus Brinson, 28, of Parsonsburg were charged with first-, thirdand fourth-degree burglary, theft under $10,000 and malicious destruction of property. Brinson was also charged with drug possession.

Ocean City Police said a neighbor alerted them when he believed he saw the three men breaking into a house across the canal. He told police the men got into the attic by climbing up on a screened porch at the back of the house.

Police saw the three men leaving the back porch of a house on Peach Tree Road and caught them after a brief chase.

Police recovered $2,000 worth of stolen items, including a television, video gaming system and stereo.
