Police find drugs during traffic stop
Berlin police arrested a 20-year-old man Nov. 9 after drug paraphernalia was allegedly found in his car.
Armando Silva of Berlin was charged with possession of paraphernalia.
Police stopped Silva for speeding on Decatur Street. When the officers searched the car, they reportedly found a glass smoking device inside.
Resort woman arrested for drugs
An Ocean City woman was arrested by Berlin police Nov. 10 when officers reportedly found drugs in her car during a traffic stop.
Jessie Christine Adkins, 24, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
According to the police report, police working on a speed enforcement patrol on Route 113 at Burley Street stopped Adkins's car for allegedly speeding. During a search of the car, police reportedly found several small plastic bags of suspected marijuana and a glass smoking device.
Man charged with domestic assault
Maryland State Police arrested a West Ocean City man for allegedly assaulting his wife Nov. 16.
Francisco Hernandez was charged with second-degree assault.
Police were called to the couple's Tudor Road home, where the victim allegedly had a bruised and swollen left eye and a chunk of her hair had been pulled out.
Police said Hernandez was extremely intoxicated at the time, and he was arrested.
Marijuana seized in West Ocean City arrest
A Salisbury man was arrested Nov. 17 on drug possession charges, according to the Maryland State Police.
Henry Lee Coleman Jr., 20, was charged with possession of marijuana.
Coleman's car was stopped by police on Route 50 in West Ocean City and suspected marijuana was reportedly found in the car. Police also seized a glass smoking device and digital scale.
Woman arrested for assaulting officer
A 31-year-old woman was arrested by the Maryland State Police Nov. 18 after she allegedly kicked an officer multiple times.
Corey Patrice Johnson of Snow Hill was charged with second-degree assault and resisting arrest.
Johnson was a passenger in a car that was stopped by police and the driver was arrested for drunken driving. During the arrest, Johnson allegedly tried to hit one of the officers and she reportedly kicked him in the shins with her high-heeled boots.
GlenRiddle burglary under investigation
The Maryland State Police are investigating a Nov. 15 burglary at a vacant home in GlenRiddle.
Police received a call from an alarm company stating the burglary alarm at a home on Maid At Arms Lane had been activated shortly before 8 p.m. At the home, police found a rear glass door had been broken and two flatscreen televisions and other electronics were reportedly missing.
Arrest made in stolen fishing gear case
Two Berlin men have been charged with theft following a month-long investigation by the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) regarding stolen fishing equipment.
Clayton James Entwistle, 19, was arrested on charges of first- and fourth-degree burglary, theft over $1,000 and theft from $100 to $1,000. Police are still looking for 19-year-old Chad Michael Shipley, who faces similar charges.
NRP officers saw the two men allegedly selling fishing equipment out of a backpack to anglers on the Route 50 bridge. Through the investigation, police learned the equipment was stolen from a vehicle at the Sunset Marina and a boat at the Fisherman's Marina, both in West Ocean City.
The Worcester County Bureau of Investigation assisted with the case.
