The Mallards improved to 14-0 with a 6-0 victory over Delmarva Christian's Royals in the Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference semifinals Wednesday in Berlin. Matt Carey led Worcester with two goals. Andrew Ternahan, Ryan McGuire, Harrison Brennan and Brandon Thaler each scored one.

"The first half was a little flat but second half we came out and really played well as a team," Carey said.

"They focused more on passing the ball and moving the ball in the second half and it paid off. A lot of kids scored," Coach Tom Westcott added.

Worcester is scheduled to compete against Salisbury School's Dragons in the ESIAC championship today (Friday) at 3:45 p.m. in Berlin. The Mallards are going after their ninth consecutive title.

The Berlin squad defeated Salisbury this season, 4-0 and 5-1.

"We can't hold onto the ball too long. Two or three touches is all we need," Westcott said. "As long as we keep it spread out and keep the ball moving we'll be successful."

"One more game for an undefeated season," Carey added. "It's been a really good season all around and now we just have one more game to finish it out."
