Police said a car driven by Reams cut across four lanes of traffic on Route 50 at Route 611 in West Ocean City, nearly hitting two other vehicles. Fugitive caught

A Berlin man wanted in Delaware was apprehended by Berlin police July 10.

Raymont Raheim Johnson, 20, was held on the outstanding fugitive warrant. He was also cited for driving without a license.

Police stopped Johnson's car for speeding and failing to stay to the right of the center line on Germantown Road, according to the police report. Johnson's driving allegedly forced the officer to drive off the road to avoid a collision.

After stopping Johnson, police learned he does not have a driver's license, according to the report. Police also learned of the active warrant.

Johnson was held without bond at the Worcester County Jail pending an extradition hearing.

Shoplifting

Berlin police arrested a 16-year-old boy July 11 for allegedly stealing a bag of potato chips.

The teen, from Altoona, Pa., was charged with theft under $100.

An employee of the Save-A-Lot store on Old Ocean City Boulevard called police when the teen allegedly put a bag of potato chips in his pants and fled from the store when confronted.

Officers from the Berlin Police Department, Maryland State Police and Maryland Natural Resources Police set up perimeter around the area and soon apprehended the teen. The case was referred to the Department of Juvenile Services.

Stolen car found

Ocean City police located a stolen car July 7 after watching two men try to enter parked cars.

John Albert Saffran, 18, and Richard William Delauder, 25, both of Baltimore, were charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft over $500, two counts of rogue and vagabond and three counts of theft under $500. Saffran received two additional counts of rogue and vagabond and one count of theft under $100.

Plainclothes officers were walking in the area of 12th Street and Baltimore Avenue when they saw the two men trying to open the doors of parked vehicles, police said. Saffran then began to urinate behind a car.

While writing Saffran a civil citation, the officers searched the area and found several items lying around the nearby vehicles, including iPod chargers and CD holders. The officers determined the items came from a specific vehicle nearby, and arrested the pair.

Police then learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Anne Arundel County the previous day.
