Field hockey camp set for Berlin
Academy International will host a weeklong field hockey camp July 20-24, from 9 a.m. to noon each day, at Stephen Decatur High School, and a girls lacrosse academy at the North Worcester Athletic Complex, Aug. 3-7, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Contests planned at Ocean Bowl
The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department is holding its annual skate competitions this summer at the Ocean Bowl Skate Park on Third Street and St. Louis Avenue. Competitions will be held July 7 and Aug. 11.
Registration begins at 2 p.m. and the competition begins at 3 p.m. There will be four age groups: 6-9 years, 10-13 years, 14-16 years and 17 years and up. The entry fee costs $10 per participant.
Prizes have been donated by the local skate shops and will be awarded to the top three skaters in each age division. Participants must have a current Ocean Bowl Skate Park waiver completed and all their safety equipment in hand at the time of registration.

Pro Gary Smith to lead OC skate camp
Professional skateboarder Gary Smith, who has been skating for more than 18 years and has been a pro for seven years, has signed on to head this summer's Ocean Bowl Skate Camp at the skate park on Third Street and Baltimore Avenue.
Smith has been featured in more than 60 major skateboard magazines and is currently skating for Hoodlum Skateboards, Ergophobia clothing and Krux Trucks, among others. He has been involved in camps and private lessons for eight years.
Two summer session remain: July 6-9 and Aug. 10-13. The sessions will be held Monday- Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon. The camp is open to boys and girls, ages 6 to 17, of all ability levels.

Golf tourneys benefit baseball, softball clubs
The Mid-Atlantic Shockers Baseball Club will sponsor a golf tournament Wednesday, July 15, at the Ocean City Golf & Yacht Club's Seaside Course. Registration will begin at noon and the tournament will begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
Cost is $100 per player or $400 per team. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams as well as to the golfer who hits closest to the pin on a selected hole and the man and woman who hit the longest drive.
Dinner and an awards banquet will follow the tournament.
Hole sponsors are available for $50 per sign or $125 for three signs. Checks should be made payable to Mid-Atlantic Shockers and mailed to P.O. Box 1233, Ocean Pines, Md. 21811.
