Bluefin, yellowfin, big eye show up in time for contest
(July 3, 2009) Bluefin, yellowfin and big eye tuna are the prime catches anglers will be looking for during the 22nd annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament, July 10-12. Early registration ends at 5 p.m. today (Friday, July 3). The cost is $800 to enter (limit of six anglers per team). Final registration will take place Thursday, July 9, from 3-7 p.m. Full Story

(July 3, 2009) Today (Friday) is the first of three fishing days for the Ocean City Marlin Club's 27th annual Canyon Kick-Off Tournament where cash prizes will be awarded for marlin, sailfish, spearfish and swordfish released and the largest tuna, dolphin and wahoo brought to the Sunset Marina scale. White Marlin Open broadens ports of departure
Wachapreague, Va. added to Cape May, Indian River as bases for annual tourney
(July 3, 2009) The 36th Annual White Marlin Open, set for Aug. 3-7, in Ocean City, is now allowing boats to depart from Wachapreague, Va., in addition to marinas in Ocean City, Indian River, Del., and Cape May, N.J. Even though competitors may leave from marinas outside of the resort, those boats still must fish within the 100-mile limit of the Ocean City Sea Buoy. Full Story
Cottle to direct OC lacrosse camp

(July 3, 2009) The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department is bringing back University of Maryland lacrosse Coach Dave Cottle to direct "Lax'n at the Beach" Boys Lacrosse Camp on July 6 through 9. Cottle has third highest winning record among active coaches in college lacrosse. Full Story

Annual Catholic Beach Golf Open to raise funds for youth
(July 3, 2009) A putting contest with Bishop Francis Malooly will be the highlight of the sixth annual Catholic Beach Golf Open Aug. 3 at the Ocean City Golf Club in South Point. Registration begins at 8 a.m., as does the putting contest. The tournament gets underway with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Full Story
