Drug possession

Ocean Pines police charged two teens with drug possession on June 7, following a traffic stop of their vehicle.

Zachary Abraham Clouse, 18, of Temple, Pa., was charged with possession of marijuana. Kyle Anthony Kiedeisch, 19, of Reading, Pa., was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Accident, DUI

A 27-year-old Ocean City man was arrested June 11 for allegedly causing an accident while drinking and driving.

Steven Joel Bryan was charged with driving under the influence, negligent driving and resisting arrest.

According to the Maryland State Police, Bryan was driving west on the Route 50 bridge when he hit another vehicle that, in turn, hit a fence and curb.

Bryan was found walking away from the scene of the accident, according to the police report. There were no injuries in the collision.

Accident

An Ocean City teenager wound up in the intensive care unit following a June 13 car accident during which his vehicle flipped over, the Maryland State Police reported.

The accident occurred shortly after midnight on Route 50 just west of Herring Creek. Police said the 17-year-old's vehicle went off the road, struck a guardrail and flipped.

The driver was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit, police said.

When searching the vehicle, police found suspected cocaine. Charges have been referred to the Department of Juvenile Services.

Assault

Ocean City police arrested two men on June 10, after plainclothes officers saw them punch and kick another man.

David Allen Burrows, 18, of Greensburg, Pa., was charged with first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault. Iszac Ternell Dallar, 19, of Delmar, Pa., was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

At 18th Street and the Boardwalk, the police officers allegedly saw Burrows and Dallar attack another man. Both suspects tried to run away when the officers identified themselves as police.

Burrows was held on a $100,000 bond and Dallar was held on a $50,000 bond.

Armed robbery arrest

The Ocean City Police Department has arrested a Pennsylvania man in connection with a June 11 armed robbery at a resort hotel but are still searching for two other suspects.

Jose Antonio Vasquez, 17, of Reading, Pa., was arrested with the help of the Reading Police Department. He has been charged as an adult with armed robbery, false imprisonment, first- and second-degree assault, theft over $500 and use of a handgun during the commission of a crime. He is awaiting extradition to Maryland.

According to the police report, three masked people brandishing handguns entered the Americana Hotel at 513 Atlantic Ave., at approximately 5 a.m. The gunmen stole money and property from the hotel and the front desk clerk. Police said the clerk was not injured during the robbery.

The suspects were described as three black males with thin builds. All three were wearing white cloth masks with holes cut out for the eyes and mouth.

Vasquez was identified as one of the suspects and was arrested in Pennsylvania late that night. Investigators are still searching for the two other suspects.

Stabbing

Ocean City police are looking for two men involved in a June 16 stabbing in the resort.

Police said the incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. on St. Louis Avenue between Sixth and Eighth streets. The victim was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

The two suspects are described as white men in their early- to mid-20s. Witnesses said one of the men was wearing a black sleeveless T-shirt and black shorts and the other was wearing a white T-shirt and lightcolored plaid shorts.

SUV flips

The driver of a sport utility vehicle that flipped over when it was involved in an accident June 15 spent the night in the hospital for observation but was released the following day, the Ocean City Police Department reported.

The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Coastal Highway at 67th Street. Police said the driver of a Nissan Xterra was making a u-turn at a green light when a driver in a car ran the red light and hit the SUV, causing it to flip over.

The driver of the car was not injured, and the driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with neck pains, police said. There were no passengers in the SUV.
