WINNING ATHLETE
Mackenzi Wagner, a 9-year-old competitive gymnast with Twisters Gymnastics, placed first allaround in her age division, scoring higher than 22 girls in her age bracket, during the Level 5 Maryland State Gymnastics competition on April 25 in Columbia, Md. Wagner, a third-graders at Buckingham Elementary School, also earned first-place awards on balance beam and vault, and third-place honors on uneven bars and floor exercise. Overall, she ranked eighth among more than 200 gymnasts across all Level 5 age groups in the state. Full Story

Mallards wrap 'crazy' season against Decatur
(May 15, 2009) It was a challenging season for the Worcester Prep boys' and girls' tennis teams. Four of the boys' matches and three of the girls' were canceled all together because of poor weather conditions. (May 15, 2009) The Stephen Decatur baseball team was undefeated going into the 3A East Regional quarterfinals against Bel Air on Monday in Berlin, but were handed its first loss and an early post-season exit. Seahawks come up short in 3A East Regional quarterfinals

(May 15, 2009) The Stephen Decatur softball team struggled to hit the ball against Fallston in the 3A East Regional quarterfinals, losing the match 2-1 in Berlin. As the No. 2 seed, the Seahawks (13-4) hosted the No. 10 Fallston Cougars (9-8), who defeated North Harford (4-13) in the opening round of the tournament to advance to the quarterfinals. Full Story

Four boys, girls to compete at District VIII regional tourney

(May 15, 2009) Eight players from Stephen Decatur's boys' and girls' tennis teams will compete in the District VIII regional tournament today (Friday) and Saturday in Cambridge. Junior James Pack, the boys' No. 1 singles player, will battle it out for an individual title. He earned the top seed for the tournament. Full Story
