Conven. center, tourism budgets see crucial cuts
(May 1, 2009) Because tourism is the lifeblood of Ocean City, the fiscal year 2010 tourism budget is expected to increase so the city can attempt to attract more visitors. The $4.9 million budget for tourism, public relations and the Life-Saving Station museum on the Boardwalk is $457,000 more than the current budget. Full Story

Police department decreases budget in face of struggling economy
(May 1, 2009) The Ocean City Police Department has trimmed nearly $750,000 out of its proposed spending for the coming year by eliminating unfilled positions, reducing part-time patrol salaries and cutting back on overtime. The $19.6 million budget proposed by the police department for the 2010 fiscal year beginning July 1 is less than the current year's $20. Full Story
