Decatur boys', girls' squads win Bayside titles
Seahawks record best times, break school and Bayside meet records
(Feb. 6, 2009) The Stephen Decatur boys' and girls' indoor track and field teams both captured Bayside Conference championship titles last Friday at the Worcester County Recreation Center in Snow Hill. (Feb. 6, 2009) While the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals were warming up for the Super Bowl last Sunday, the Worcester Prep boys' basketball team was preparing for its game the next day against Salisbury Christian. (Feb. 6, 2009) The Stephen Decatur girls' basketball team scored big victories in its last two games, one by 25 points and another by three. Prior to last Friday's matchup between Decatur and the Snow Hill Eagles, Seahawk Coach Ron Knerr said he thought the competition in Berlin was going to be a battle after the Dec. 30 contest went back and forth. Swimmers hampered by illness, hope to recover before regionals

(Feb. 6, 2009) The Stephen Decatur boys' and girls' swim teams have battled illnesses during the last two meets, but that didn't stop them from taking down the Kent County Trojans on Jan. 29. The Lady Seahawks placed first in 10 of 11 events to outscore their opponent 112-47. Taylor Blazer won the 200-meter freestyle (2:12.45) and the 100-meter backstroke (1:05.35). Full Story

Seahawks lose close game to Eagles, ready for Tuesday rematch

(Feb. 6, 2009) The Stephen Decatur boys' basketball team lost to the Snow Hill Eagles on the road last Wednesday, but Coach Travis Lloyd said it was the best he has seen the Seahawks play in his eight years with the program. Decatur led 18-13 at the end of the opening quarter, but then fell behind 35-31 at halftime. Full Story
