Walker gets last-minute push to compete in singing contest that earns him LA trip
(Feb. 6, 2009) Weeks ago, 23-year-old Willie Walker was nothing more than a part-time singer — he spends his days working for Eastern Shore Refrigeration and some of his spare time competing in talent shows and performing in children's theaters and other community shows, showcasing his smooth voice for the pure enjoyment of simply singing for others. 7th ANNUAL GLOVES DRIVE
(Feb. 6, 2009) The Noel Community's seventh annual gLOVEs drive is under way, and donations will be accepted until Feb. 13. The drive's purpose is to collect new hats, gloves, socks and blankets to keep those people in need warm in the cold months. Full Story

Bull Roast, luau honored Lavanceau The Andre Lavanceau Memorial Bull Roast Luau, held Jan. 23, at the Dough Roller Restaurant on 125th Street in Ocean City, raised more than $4,300 for Atlantic General Hospital. And the donations are still coming in, according to Patricia Ilczuk-Lavanceau, coordinator of the event and wife of the late Lavanceau. Full Story
